Pictures/ location recce
While taking pictures of potential shots we heard trains going past near the log sitting, also the wind blows leaves around creating more noise.
Near the ditch/hill we heard traffic noises from cars going past the main road. We take both into account but the area's are so important in are film we need to use them. Trains aren't constantly going past so we will take shots while there's no train and we will film near the ditch at a time where the road is less busy.
Unfortunately we cannot do anything about the wind blowing leaves.
We also identified the props/ costumes we needed to do with the characters as while we went around the forest we realised the type of character we wanted.

toy Story
Toy Story
Lots of toys are used making it interesting to children and establishing that the genre will be aimed at children. Young kind childish voices/actors are used and no harsh colours which also establishes the genre. The whole good guy/ bad guy character idea which is used in most kids films establishes that its going to be in the action genre. Non diagetic happy music helps us understand the great friendship between the boy and his toys also letting the audience know that Woody is his favorite, helping us understand relationships. the POV shot from Woody looking in at the boy on his birthday shows that he may be worried. Showing us a bit about the toys life and that birthdays are a scary thing.

Children's Film research
Nanny Mcphee- the costumes and time period set the scene which is mis-en scene.
Also there is an establishing shot which shows the setting. To introduce the characters there are switches between close ups of individual characters.
Spy Kids- has music that explains the setting and the theme. they use story telling to set the scene and this uses voice overs which is diagetic sound. Primary and secondary colours suggests that its a children's film and props such as sunglasses suggest that there are hints of action.
Where The Wild Things Are- Costume shows the child's imagination and use of uplifting music shows its a child's film. In order to show the boy is lonely, the blocking and framing is used to make the character seem marginalised. The intro also shows the characters relationships by not having them in the same shot ever.
